DIAMONDS ARE FOR TREVOR
Taking place soon at the Arts Centre Gold Coast is ‘Diamonds Are for Trevor’, a fabulous tribute show with Helpmann Award nominee Trevor Ashley as famous female singer Shirley Bassey. As she dons sequin dresses and the famous Shirley Bassey haircut, Trevor Ashley effortlessly sings ‘Big Spender’, ‘Never, Never, Never’, ‘This is My Life’, and ‘History Repeating’, as well as all the well-known theme songs from James Bond films Goldfinger, Moonraker, and Diamonds Are Forever. Backing her up are an impressive 24 piece orchestra, creating one fantastic show that is not to be missed. Don’t miss it on February 2!
THIS GIRL: RACHAEL BECK
Rachael Beck is one of the most talented performers in Australian theatre. Ever since the tender age of 13 she’s been in the spotlight, and now she’s well known for starring in big Australian shows such as Les Miserables, Beauty and the Beast, The War of the Worlds, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and more. She also released her solo album ‘This Girl’ in 2014, proving herself as a talented singer. This February, Rachael Beck is back with a tour that will showcase her singing talent, solo album, and many inspiring stories of her career. Don’t miss her as she makes her way to the Gold Coast on February 15.
OUR LAND PEOPLE STORIES
The Bangarra Dance Theatre present ‘Our Land People Stories’, where Australia’s cultural history is explored though dance. Some of the dance pieces you’ll get to see include Nyapanyapa, exploring the famous paintings of artist Nyapanyapa Yunupingu, Miyagan which tells the story of Wiradjuri family, as well as Macq, which uncovers the fascinating life of Sydney governor Lachlan Macquarie. Catch ‘Our Land People Stories’ on February 23 and 24.
